The step by step instructions:
Place you beaded hook into your vise, tilted down slightly and tie in your hot spot off the rear of the shank. Using a thin needle, add a tiny drop of UV resin to the surface of the hot spot. Cure for a few seconds under UV. (Avoid getting any resin in front of the hot spot, on the shank).
Realign the hook so it's straight in the vise.
Cast on behind the bead with as few wraps as possible, down to the half way point.
Take a short length of .25 lead wire and place one end under the bead, on top of the hook shank. Tie it in down to the 1/2 way point, keeping it on the top of the shank. Take a length of UNI-Soft Wire small Copper, and tie in along the side of the wire, and all the way down to the hot spot.
Take a pair of long nose pliers (smooth with no serrations) and carefully squash down the end of the lead wire so there is a smooth transition down to the hook at the half way point. If you break and threads, go over these with your thread to lock them down. Your lead will want to spin when you squash down the end, so take your time and do it carefully.
Take your thread down to the hot spot, and tie in 5 or 6 PT fibers, directly in front of the hot spot. Make sure to keep these on top of the shank, and ensure they are straight. 2 or 3 turns should be enough to hold them so don't overdo it.
Lift the PT fibers up and dub a small noodle of Simans golden dubbing #8 and wrap it forward to a couple of mm from the bead. Using a brown permanent marker, colour the dubbing on the top of the shank brown. Pull the butt end of the PT fibers down to the bead, over the top of the dubbing and secure with a couple of turns of thread.
Take your Uni wire, and rib over the top of the dubbing and PT all the way up to the bead.
Take another 10x P.T fibers, and align them with the points over the bead. These will become the legs, so keep them to the right length. Measure now, and adjust as necessary as you can't change this later.
Trap the fibers down to the half way point, on top of the shank. Check these are in lign with the fibers you tied in earlier over the back of the fly. They should be in a straight line.
Dub another sparse noodle of the same dubbing, and wind it over the thorax area to behind the bead. Colour this again on top with the same brown marker.
Divide the legs into 2 groups of 5, and push them down the sides of the hook.
Bring the butt sections of the PT fibers over the dubbing, while holding the legs down the sides. Tie off the butt sections behind the hook, and whip finish with 4 turns.
Coat the top of the wing case with UV resin.
Finished.
